  1. I’m currently a NYCDOE teacher working in a school that receives Title 1 and Title 3 funding. Systemic racism breathes in our schools and microaggressions are held up by my colleagues. I also grew up in Queens, attended District 24 schools and currently live in the Ridgewood/Glendale/Middle Village area so learning about the history of schools here and the older generation of parents and their mentality really opens my eyes to why this community is the way it is now. It hasn’t changed much. This is the same neighborhood who met BLM protests with Back The Blue protests. A lot of ugly history here which is still well and alive today. This podcast is an inspiration for me to keep learning and keep reading. Knowledge is power. Thank you for coming together to create this podcast.
